We’ve only been closed to the public a few short weeks, but here at The Dower House Touring Park, we get straight into our work to prepare for 2020 season opening!
There is always work to be done with re-seeding pitches so that our grass grows beautifully, repainting of the facilities fresh for opening, and repairing of wooden fences.
On top of the maintenance work that we undertake in season close each year, we try to find ways to always improve.
We already shared with you how we will now be taking online bookings from November 1st, which means you will not have to wait much longer to book up for your favourite dates next year.
But here is a run down of a few extra plans that we’ve had up our sleeve:
Pine field to become adult only
Firstly, the first field on the campsite as you enter, which is known as ‘Pine’ will become an adults only field, meaning that those who are looking to come away for quiet break will be able to enjoy this quiet field. Families with children will be booked into the other remaining fields onsite.
Secure your favourite pitch
If you love staying in the same place each time you visit us, for a £5 fee you will be able to secure a specific pitch.
Rent a tent
No tent? No problem! If you somehow manage to get all the way on holiday without packing your tent, or you simple don’t own one, but you would love to try camping, we will be offering the chance to rent a tent for use in your stay.
Play area pitches
Next season we will be making more of our playing are pitches available for tents, where currently they are caravan only pitches.
If you wanted to try Glamping but found that you didn’t book in because you were unable to commit to the 3 night minimum – look out for select times of year this coming season where you will be able to book in for a 2 night minimum!
New woodland walk!
We’re hard at work preparing a short woodland walk in the woods that runs parallel to the site, from the reception down to the tent field with a loop back. You will be able to follow the twists and turns on this 20 minute stroll, through points of interest, and find your way back to the site reception.
We’re trying to expand our onsite activities, and we are working on some scavenger hunts, which you can do as a family!
More live music!
We can confirm that our family favourite Alton Wahlberg will be back with some live music dates next season also, we look forward to having him back!
We’re putting our thinking caps on to think of even more activities we can offer next season, not all are definite but we are considering some outdoor cinema screenings, and an outdoor climbing wall! We love hearing our customer suggestions, so feel free to drop us a message on social media if you have any ideas!
We hope you have enjoyed reading about our plans over the next few months and look forward to welcoming you in 2020 to enjoy an even better Dower House experience.
